Happy below-zero Wednesday!

If you were already on the go early this morning like I was, it was impossible to escape the bone-chilling cold! I hope you are making sure to bundle up as you are out and about this week. Here are a few quick notes about goings-on in Sturgis as we enter the last half of the month:

1. We’re Hiring! The Chamber is now seeking a full-time Office & Membership Coordinator. If you or someone you know has what it takes, submit your application materials asap. Click here to view the job post.

2. Seeking Supporters of Ag – Our Agriculture Committee is accepting new members from all walks of life! Whether you are directly involved in ag or simply a supporter, please contact us to learn more about contributing.

3. New Event: Sturgis Art Festival – Join our planning meeting this Friday morning to be part of a new festival in Sturgis! New ideas welcome! We will meet at 10am in the Chamber conference room (1/17).

4. Find us on Pinterest – We are expanding our social media footprint to include Pinterest! Click here to view our boards and learn more about how we’re utilizing this platform to promote Sturgis tourism and businesses.

5. Legislative Session Prep – Our first Crackerbarrel is set for February 1st! Plan to attend this great event to learn about the 2020 House and Senate bills, as well as to provide input to our district legislators.

6. Winter Markets Continue – Our next market will take place on Saturday, February 8th! Beat the winter blues by perusing fun crafted goods, produce, and treats. View the event page, here.

7. Sponsorship Selections Coming Due! If you haven’t yet, be sure to complete your 2020 Sponsorship Form and submit it to our office. Your dollars make our events possible! Need guidance? Just call or stop by!

8. Labor Laws: Are You in Compliance? If that question makes you feel a little uneasy, it’s a good idea to get in touch with our local Department of Labor & Regulations. Click here for information about required workplace postings, new hire reporting, and other helpful tips!

9. Be an Ambassador – We are on the hunt for 2020 Chamber Ambassadors! Fill out this questionnaire to find out if you are a good fit.

TL;DR – Tons of fun things going on this month. This town is amazing. #BeInvolved

Sincerely,

Veronica Grosek
