Northern Hills Ag Fest is an agricultural festival in celebration of all things ranching and farming. The local agriculture industry is - and always has been - a cornerstone of the Sturgis community. Farmers and ranchers have long supported the area and contributed to its unique and friendly culture. Sturgis is lucky to boast kind, hard-working residents, many of whom have agricultural backgrounds that can be traced back generations.
The Ag Fest event is held in conjunction with the Meade County Fair and 4-H Achievement Days in July annually. It includes a free community BBQ sponsored by local businesses, followed by family-friendly agriculture competitions including Dress-a-Calf, Dress-a-Sheep, a Calf Scramble, and the ever-popular Mutton Bustin’ events! Participants of all ages and backgrounds are welcome to enter the event competitions at the Chamber in advance or at the registration booth, the day of - each event is tailored to a specific age range. Farmers, ranchers, and those with non-ag backgrounds alike are encouraged to participate! This is an opportunity to thank and support the ag industry, have some fun, and come together as a community.
