Northern Hills Ag Fest is an agricultural festival in celebration of all things ranching and farming. The local agriculture industry is - and always has been - a cornerstone of the Sturgis community. Farmers and ranchers have long supported the area and contributed to its unique and friendly culture. Sturgis is lucky to boast kind, hard-working residents, many of whom have agricultural backgrounds that can be traced back generations.
The Ag Fest event is held in conjunction with the Meade County Fair and 4-H Achievement Days in July annually. It includes a free community BBQ sponsored by local businesses, followed by family-friendly agriculture competitions including a brand new "Ag Olympics" obstacle course team event, a Calf Scramble, and the ever-popular Mutton Bustin’!

Event Registration
Participants of all ages and backgrounds are welcome to enter the event competitions at the Chamber in advance or at the registration booth, the day of - each event is tailored to a specific age range. Farmers, ranchers, and those with non-ag backgrounds alike are encouraged to participate! This is an opportunity to thank and support the ag industry, have some fun, and come together as a community.
Mutton Bustin' - Registration form coming soon!
- Open to youth ages 4-5 and 6-7 and weighing under 60 lbs (split into two age divisions)
- Notary required (available at Pioneer Bank, Chamber office, or day of event at the fairgrounds).
- Registration Deadline: Submit to the Sturgis Chamber or Pioneer Bank & Trust of Sturgis by 5pm on 7/24/24, or register the day of the event between 1pm and 5pm at the registration tent.
Calf Scramble - Registration form coming soon!
- Open to youth ages 8-9, 10-12, and 13-17
- Notary required (available at Pioneer Bank or Chamber office).
- Registration Deadline: Submit to the Sturgis Chamber or Pioneer Bank & Trust of Sturgis by 5pm on 7/24/24, or register the day of the event between 1pm and 5pm at the registration tent.

- Open to youth ages 8-9, 10-12, and 13-18
- Team of four required (members must be within same age division)
- Registration Deadline: Submit to the Sturgis Chamber or Pioneer Bank & Trust of Sturgis by 5pm on 7/24/24, or register the day of the event between 1pm and 5pm at the registration tent.
