Merry Christmas, Sturgis!
I hope you all had a relaxing Christmas and Christmas Eve. Mine involved a LOT of holiday chocolates, a race to finish all of my homemade gifts on time, a house full of family and friends, Christmas Day Chinese cuisine, and the obligatory late-night viewing of A Charlie Brown Christmas. Our family is great at gift-giving and I am so thankful for all of the wonderful, heartfelt items I received. That said, now that Christmas is behind us and the New Year approaches, it is time to think of things to let go as well!
Letting go shouldn’t be a painful, forced process. It’s a necessary part of every new year – let go of items that you don’t need or use anymore. Let go of habits and people that bring you down. Let go of stagnation that comes with being too comfortable in a rut. I will be taking some time to think about each component of my life – work, relationship, family, personal interests/hobbies – and make plans to let go of aspects of them that aren’t moving that piece forward. From the Chamber’s perspective, this means taking a long hard look at the events, services, and processes that we spend time on every year. If they aren’t utilized often or appreciated by our Members, why are we spending time on them? It’s time to make room for new ideas!
Thank you for supporting the Chamber in 2019. I hope you will keep growing with us, making new goals, and taking part in new initiatives to promote Sturgis and our wonderful business community.
Sincerely,
Veronica Grosek
