The Chamber Holiday Bucket List.

There are so many fun things to do around the holidays. Having a holiday bucket list is a great way to make sure that you get all of the festive activities done before the season is over! We asked our Chamber ladies what things were on their bucket lists, here are their responses:

Kiara Poitra, Receptionist & Events Coordinator

“I have never thought about making a holiday bucket list before, so this should be fun! Here is my list (not in a specific order):

Go Christmas tree hunting

Attend the Tree Lighting and Parade of Lights (that one isn’t hard to accomplish, since I plan the events!)

Decorate the tree while drinking hot cocoa

Check out the ice skating rink

Get some great deals during Scrooge Night!

Build a unique snowman

Bake all of the best Christmas goodies…and then eat them all!

Rock out to festive music

Relax at home, under the cozy blankets

I don’t think I missed anything, but it is hard to tell since there are so many things to do!”

Veronica Grosek, Executive Director

“I have some fun traditions every year for the holiday season. But there are some things that I have always wanted to do! Here are some of them:

Ice skating at the Sturgis ice rink

Checking out the deals on Scrooge Night

Watching a Sturgis Community Cinema movie

A holiday glass of wine with mom at Belle Joli’

Mandalorian-themed Monopoly with family

Skiing at Terry Peak

Midnight mass at St. Martin’s

Hosting a successful Tree Lighting & Parade of Lights

Listening to Sturgis Area Arts Council’s Christmas program broadcast

Attending a holiday production at the Homestake Opera House

Donating to a Sturgis nonprofit

Cruising the Sturgis Drive-By Holiday Lights Tour

Making gingerbread men (and women!) cookies

Creating special Sturgis Business Christmas tree ornaments

I can’t wait to do some of these things this year!”

Kat Mayberry, Membership Coordinator

“With this being the busiest time of year due to the holidays, it is hard to get some things crossed off the bucket list. These are mine for this year:

Driving around town for the Holiday Lights Tour

Donating to local charities

Perusing the Craft Fair and Shopping Local

Participating in the Tree Lighting Ceremony

Watching the Parade of Lights

Building a Snowman

Shop Scrooge Night

This year is the best year to be jolly!”

We hope everyone gets the chance to complete their own holiday bucket lists this year. Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday's everyone!!
