What’s Taylor up to in November 2025?

November 2025 in Sturgis

The end-of-year holidays have begun, and so has the snowy weather. For me, this is a busy season focused on family, friends, and the Sturgis community.

To kick off the month of November, my fiancé and I made a roadtrip over to Sioux Falls and Omaha. I lived in Nebraska for 9 years before coming up here to the Black Hills in 2016, so I love being able to go back and visit. We went to the Henry Doorly Zoo (one of my most favorite places in the country), ate at a LOT of really good restaurants, and did some fun exploring around the cities.

Next up in November was our first Young Professionals Group meetup. Our aim is to better connect with fellow young and young-at-heart business community members in Sturgis through casual networking. We had a great time, chatting about upcoming events and other community involvement.

We also went over to First Interstate Bank for the Sturgis Festival of Trees. This is a great annual event that brings in a huge amount of donations for the food pantry. There were so many beautiful trees, I couldn't pick a favorite! Although I lost in the first round of the "Paint Stick Game," it was a wonderful evening to spend with the people of Sturgis.

Moving towards Turkey Day, the Loud American once again hosted their iconic Thanksgiving Eve Party. I just absolutely had to show up and support the Brandon Jones Band and Tyler Bills! It was a blast learning some swing dance moves and then poorly executing said moves in front of everyone.

The following days were spent with friends and family while eating wayyy too much food. I made many pumpkin, peanut butter, and banana creme pies over the weekend.

I wrapped my November up with Small Business Saturday. Sturgis came through with all kinds of great deals, which definitely made my Christmas shopping easier. I highly recommend visiting some of our local businesses for your holiday needs- you never know what treasures you'll find!

The holiday season is in full swing now, with many more festivities coming up in December. I can't wait to see all of the beautiful lights on houses, sip on plenty of peppermint mochas, and enjoy the sense of community in our town.
