About Leadership Sturgis
Leadership Sturgis is a 6-part monthly educational series open to anyone and everyone interested in making a difference in the community. The program welcomes students from all industries and backgrounds.
Students network with each other and with community leaders, including municipal and county representatives. They also have the opportunity to meet local business owners and tour facilities within the community.
The goal of Leadership Sturgis is to cultivate a new generation of thinkers and doers in the Sturgis area each year. It empowers participants to ask critical questions and collaborate, and also to create positive change in their lives, at their places of work, and in the Sturgis community. Up to 20 students are accepted into the program each biennial program.
Leadership Sturgis Class of 2027
Program Overview
The 2026-2027 Leadership Sturgis Series takes place monthly on third Tuesdays starting November 2026 and ending April 2027. Participants will meet at 1:00pm and are dismissed at 5:00pm each Tuesday. Full attendance is required.
This series is ideal for professionals, emerging leaders, and anyone interested in making a positive impact within our community. Whether you're looking to enhance your leadership abilities or deepen your understanding of local dynamics, this series has something for everyone.
Program Highlights
- Hands-On Engagement: Attend community meetings and events during the program period to gain in-person familiarity with our government, business network, and community initiatives.
- Direct Connections: Participants will meet and learn from community leaders with diverse backgrounds and experience throughout the program courses.
- Class Project: The class will work together or in small groups to complete a Leadership Sturgis class project, based on the needs of the community and presentations offered during the program.
- Professional Headshots: Each participant will sign up for a professional headshot session with a talented local photographer.
- Certificate of Completion: Celebrate your achievements with a special Certificate of Completion upon successfully completing all class sessions and project requirements.
Program Purpose
The purpose of Leadership Sturgis is to develop a new class of leaders that will work towards positive change in our community. This is a chance to make valuable connections, meet other like-minded aspiring leaders, and learn about key components of the Sturgis community.
