2019 Black Hills & Badlands Literature Swap

Good afternoon, Sturgis!

It has already been a productive week here at the Chamber! The highlight so far was the annual Black Hills & Badlands Literature Swap event at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center, which I highly recommend for any tourism-based business next year.

Black Hills & Badlands is our regional tourism association – to learn more about everything they do, visit this link! The first portion of the day included a meeting of parks and attractions business representatives. I spoke about the Sturgis Chamber’s goals, accomplishments so far, and some of our biggest events coming up. I also had the opportunity to hear from eight other Chambers in the area and about 25 other tourism businesses!

After the morning meeting, Susan and I stopped by the literature swap. This was our first year attending with all new staff, and what a great opportunity! Each business in attendance shared their brochures, business cards, and publications for free, and we were able to take as many of the other businesses’ items as needed to distribute to visitors this summer.

Cross-promoting tourism destinations in the Black Hills is one of the best things we can do to support each other – community to community as well as business to business right here in Sturgis. I hope you will stop by the Sturgis Chamber to see what we brought back to share!

Sincerely,

Veronica Grosek
