Busy Summer, Busy Fall!

Good afternoon!

August is wrapping up and we are already hearing tentative forecasts for early snow (fingers crossed they are wrong!). It’s safe to say that summer is truly flying by this year! That being said, the Chamber has been hard at work planning a ton of great events to finish the summer strong, take advantage of the last few weeks of warm weather, and invite autumn into our community. Here is what you can look forward to in the coming weeks:

Sturgis Farmer’s Markets
The rain finally let up enough to provide a beautiful harvest, and you are all welcome to it at the weekly Farmer’s Market on Saturdays from 9am to 1pm at Main & 4th Street! We plan to run the market through the end of September or early October, as long as the weather and harvest hold out.

Lunch & Learn: “The Scoop on Travel”
Sherri Rost from our friends and Chamber Member, Castaic Travel, is cooking up a fun and informational Lunch & Learn to help kick start your travel plans on September 17th at noon! This will be a free event, BYOL (Bring Your Own Lunch!).

Sturgis Public Library Children’s Library Ribbon Cutting
Also on September 17th starting at 4:30pm, the brand new Children’s Library will be open for a Ribbon Cutting, Mixer, Dedication Ceremony, and Donor Recognition! Kids can also participate in a Children’s Library Card Sign-Up Party at 3:30pm with ice cream!

Fall City-Wide Yard Sale
It’s back! One of our most popular Chamber events is set for Saturday, September 21st – start making a list of your yard sale items and be sure to stop by the Chamber to pick up a registration form!

Leadership Sturgis Series
We are proud to present this year’s Leadership Sturgis Series! There are four sessions scheduled: 9/24, 10/1, 10/8, and 10/15 from 1pm to 5pm. Stop or call the Chamber to secure your registration! Details available in this newsletter.

Agriculture Appreciation Banquet
Limited FREE tickets are now available for the ever-popular annual Chamber Ag Appreciation Banquet! The banquet will be on Thursday, September 26th from 5pm to 8pm. Swing by to pick yours up! If your business would like to sponsor a table and/or donate a door prize, please contact us.

That’s it for now! Mark your calendar with all of the community happenings, follow our weekly e-mail newsletter and social media pages for details on each event, and don’t forget to visit us anytime to say hello.

Sincerely,

Veronica Grosek
