Happy week-before-Christmas!
Our final big event of 2019 is currently in progress, and we are looking forward to a couple quieter months of business mixers, event planning, administrative tasks, and new ideas!
One item on my mind has been opening up our Chamber blog to Members for contributions. Who better to write about all of the wonderful things going on in and around Sturgis, or a topic more aligned with your own industry? If you are a writer at heart and think this might be a good fit, please reach out so we can discuss your availability and some topic ideas. You might want to do one single post, or become a regular contributor – it’s up to you!
Another upcoming item is our annual sponsorship drive! We are so excited to roll out a brand new Sponsorship Kit for 2020 – we’ve updated the look and feel, but more importantly, we’ve updated the sponsorship levels, packages, and made the entire process easier to navigate. Be on the lookout for your 2020 Community Sponsorship Kit and a brand new 2020 Chamber Member decal in the mail soon!
Finally, January is a time for trying new things and becoming more involved – that means considering becoming a Chamber committee member! We welcome anyone and everyone interested in making a difference in Sturgis to apply to join a committee. Current committees seeking new members include:
- Agriculture Committee – These committee members plan two fun events every year – Ag Fest in July and the Ag Appreciation Banquet in September. Help us support the agriculture community by joining our ranks!
- Retail Committee – This “committee” keeps it casual! We have a dedicated group of retail supporters that gather each month over coffee to brainstorm new ideas – join us!
- Chamber Ambassadors – These community-minded individuals are tasked with being official Chamber representatives, and attend as many business functions as possible to support commerce in Sturgis! Functions include Ribbon Cuttings, Open Houses, Mixers, and other Chamber events. Ambassadors are selected via our application process and are given a special nametag denoting their affiliation.
That’s all for today – we hope you have a wonderful week! Happy Holidays from the Chamber of Commerce.
Sincerely,
Veronica Grosek
