Get Outside: Sturgis Edition!

Happy Spring Equinox!

As the weather finally shows signs of warming up, take advantage of everything outdoors that Sturgis has to offer! Here are a few recommendations:

Take a hike

Sturgis is uniquely located at the hub of an expansive trail system. Now is the perfect time to bring out the hiking boots and try one of our newly-opened trails in the watershed area south of town, or hike part of the Centennial Trail! Visit the Black Hills Trails website for details on trailhead locations, trail conditions, and news about trail systems in our area.

Enjoy drinks on the patio

Several food and beverage establishments in Sturgis feature outdoor patios to better soak in the spring sunshine! Stop by the Loud American Roadhouse, Belle Joli’ Winery, or a variety of others to enjoy a drink with friends outside.

Absorb some local history

Did you know the Chamber has Historic Walking Tour brochures? Stop by our office to pick one up and learn about Sturgis’s unique “Scoop Town” history and historic downtown district. When you’re done, head over to the Fort Meade Cavalry Museum or Sturgis Motorcycle Museum to get an in-depth tour of two of the area’s biggest claims to fame!

Picnic in the park

With the warmer temperatures come picnic season! Grab some snacks from Lynn’s Dakotamart or Grocery Mart, then head out to one of our beautiful city parks to enjoy the fresh air with the family!

Bring out the bicycle

Spring is one of the best times to bicycle around town – not too hot, and not too cold! Grab a light jacket and see where the day takes you. P.S. – Our downtown shops are featuring some incredible seasonal deals and new spring inventory, use this opportunity to pedal over check them out!

Hoping you all have a great week and feel the springtime vibes – take a look at our events below for even more to do in the Sturgis area over the coming weeks!
