Giving Thanks

Hello, Sturgis!

It’s already time for Thanksgiving. I am especially thankful for a number of reasons:

  1. I am thankful that my first year as Director is almost under my belt! I always knew that I wanted a career that directly and positively impacted our community, and I have truly found it. I can’t wait to continue working with all of the businesses and residents of Sturgis towards the best possible version of our community in coming years.
  2. I am thankful for a highly supportive Board of Directors and office staff. When people of different industries, backgrounds, and personalities can come together to share ideas and work towards a common goal so effectively, you know you’ve found something special!
  3. I am thankful that the Chamber has been moving forward in leaps and bounds this past year – we have added 43 brand new member businesses, made significant financial improvements, increased our office staff, celebrated countless ribbon cuttings, and collaborated with the most amazing business partners on a variety of brand new initiatives. What a year it has been!
  4. I am thankful for the strides Sturgis has taken as a community to support commerce. Sturgis has always been a unique town to start a business in; it has its pros and its cons! For this reason, it is all the more crucial for our residents and existing businesses to be welcoming and supportive of start-up commerce, business expansions, and new ideas.
  5. I am thankful for the amazing business owners, managers, and employees across town that have stepped up to volunteer, sponsor, and plan initiatives with us. This Chamber is a non-profit organization, which means we can use all the help we can get! It takes a village to do everything we have achieved this year, and we couldn’t do it without you.

It’s been such a whirlwind of a first year with you all, and I can’t wait to see what we accomplish together in 2020. Please take a moment to check out our upcoming holiday events and activities in this week’s e-mail newsletter – we’re not done with 2019 yet and we are ending it with a bang!

Sincerely,

Veronica Grosek
