Happy Friday from the Chamber of Commerce!
As we march steadily towards Christmas and wrap up Q4, our eyes are already firmly fixed on making 2021 a stand-out year for Sturgis. Our staff is working hard on several key tasks that will set the tone for 2021 and tie up a great (yet surprising) 2020! Here are some highlights from the Chamber staff this week:
Kat
Kat is well-known after just a few months with the Chamber for being a fountain of energy and ideas in the community!
She is in the midst of finishing up our membership renewals for 2020 and already planning to greet new businesses into our membership for 2021. Kat is also starting to visit our members to discuss opportunities to advertise in the annual Official Sturgis Publication, a beautiful collaborative effort put together each year by the Chamber, City, and Sturgis Motorcycle Museum. The magazine is distributed for free to tens of thousands of guests annually to help draw visitors and show them what to partake in once they arrive.
Keep an eye out for Kat in the coming weeks to discuss how you can best take advantage of your membership, and opportunities for advertising to our incoming 2021 visitors!
Kiara
Kiara has been very hard at work planning another great Tree Lighting Ceremony and Parade of Lights for our community! If you were able to attend, we hope you had an absolutely amazing time. You can learn a little more about her process in her blog, here.
As we finish up December and move into the new year, Kiara will put the finishing touches on our Scrooge Night event (December 17th) and make sure that all of the details of our 2020 activities are recorded so that we can brainstorm bigger and better events in 2021. She takes the lead in designing advertisements, updating our website, and managing social media.
Kiara is also busy at our front desk greeting holiday visitors and preparing visitor information mailings - now is the time that our visitors begin planning their Sturgis vacations!
Veronica
I personally am hip-deep in the most enchanting part of the Chamber's operations this time of year - budgeting! In looking ahead to 2021, I see a year full of promise and new projects that I know will truly benefit every resident and business in our community.
I am also finalizing a brand new 2021 sponsorship kit to give each of our businesses the chance to contribute to the community's overall success and town spirit. Sponsorship helps us provide more, bigger, and better events each year while giving you the chance to meet new clients and gain community loyalty - please keep a lookout for our sponsorship kit coming your way soon.
Finally, I've been lending my assistance with a variety of community endeavors including SEDC's brand new Community Cinema, the Downtown Foundation's new (and very exciting!) sculpture project, and speaking on behalf of our membership at the recent Marcotte Development Public Meeting. There is nothing I love more than advocating for our incredible community and pitching in for the greater good.
Thanks for another great Tree Lighting and Parade of Lights - Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from all of us at the Chamber office!
Sincerely,
Veronica Grosek
